Vanessa Linares

Vanessa Linares was born in Barcelona in 1976. She graduated in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona. She completed her training at Manchester Metropolitan University and specialized in graphic design.

She paints on canvas, paper, ceramics, and large walls. Her work has been exhibited in dozens of galleries throughout Spain and in Paris, Singapore, Hong Kong, Milan, Brussels, Havana....

"The story of the Guspirus: The small animals that inhabit the forests are a representation of my individuality and, through it, of the human condition. Their round black eyes, alive, always on alert, surprised or expecting something to happen, suspicious or confident, try to understand what is going on in the real world, outside the forest, knowing that it is all about a shadow or an echo of what is happening in parallel deep within themselves. In this sense, much of my work can be seen as part of a work in progress, as a kind of diary where I record the emotions and thoughts that are part of my daily life, mine and that of everyone who identifies with it."
