Original painting by the artist Vanessa Linares for Ici et Là, painted in limited series of ten signed and numbered copies. The copies have each time different and unique because hand painted.
The work presented here and on sale is the first copy.
Each unique and slightly different canvas is painted by the artist.
The artworks of Vanessa Linares reflect a naive, innocent and disturbing atmosphere characteristic of her universe of the artist. The bright colors, the intimate and tender themes, served to build a totally personal symbolism reflected in the evocative titles of his works.
Vanessa has created a reality full of fantastic yet at the same time naturalistic elements, with a tip very close to manga aesthetics and cartoons (the big eyes of human figures, animals that repeat themselves or recurring landscapes) as well as numerous popular culture references reinterpreted with a very clean vision (from artistic representations of art history to characters of cinematographic fiction).
Linares understands her art as a work in constant evolution, as evidenced by his «Guspirus», a character who is almost always represented and who has become a leitmotiv, an alter ego to which he appeals to the symbolic reality that he created around his entire production.

Presentation
Vanessa Linares was born in Barcelona in 1976. She graduated in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona. She completed her training at Manchester Metropolitan University and specialized in graphic design.
She paints on canvas, paper, ceramics, and large walls. Her work has been exhibited in dozens of galleries throughout Spain and in Paris, Singapore, Hong Kong, Milan, Brussels, Havana....
"The story of the Guspirus: The small animals that inhabit the forests are a representation of my individuality and, through it, of the human condition. Their round black eyes, alive, always on alert, surprised or expecting something to happen, suspicious or confident, try to understand what is going on in the real world, outside the forest, knowing that it is all about a shadow or an echo of what is happening in parallel deep within themselves. In this sense, much of my work can be seen as part of a work in progress, as a kind of diary where I record the emotions and thoughts that are part of my daily life, mine and that of everyone who identifies with it."
