Memories of Water and Mud

Chiva From September 28, 2025 to November 8, 2025

Presentation

“Memories of Water and Mud” brings together photographs taken by Emanuel Gravina during the days when the DANA transformed both a territory and its people. The main body of the exhibition consists of 41 photographs captured during the days of the disaster, images that speak of water and mud, fragility, and the ephemeral nature of what we take for granted.

The exhibition expands with 100 portraits of local residents, photographed one year later, in the days leading up to the exhibition’s opening, as a living element of memory. In these portraits, neighbors share what the experience took from them and what it left behind.
