Presentation

As an artist when I take on a theme, I search for inspiration in my context, in people and within myself. This time the sources of my inspiration are elements of the cultural identity of the city where I live, La Paz, in Bolivia. This is how the series of works that I have entitled “Essences” was born.
“Essences” are a group of illustrations that are born from my personal perception, through which I would like to show cultural and experiential elements that can be linked to “Paceño” identity. Each drawing is intended for the viewer to feel identified or identify these elements from the outset, as they are clear and simple, but not necessarily obvious to the unfamiliarized; therefore, appealing to the curiosity of the latter. For the most part, watercolor and gouache are my graphic mediums of choice to attain this objective because of their expressiveness.
