Biography
It was thanks to his passion for surfing and skateboarding that Mata7ik turned towards art. Born in 1980 in Belgium, Mata7ik spent most of his childhood collecting pictures of skateboarding and surfing that he found in American magazines. He finally took the step some years later, and started painting on boards, a support that he likes a lot, and he has devoted most of his time to this since 2006.
On his skateboards, surfboards and even longboards, he depicts stylized aquatic creatures, with colorful patterns, all done with markers and posca.
Mata7ik works as well with surf and skate brands such as Woodnote, Drang, Blacklane, Fluide Longboard, Lime Skateboars, Fnac, The Coffee Club, Spreadshirt, Septante Sept.... He is as well, the creator of the group "Chalk Custom Board", which reunites artists specialized in the same field.
