Presentation

Liu Zhengyong was born in China, in Zhuzhou in the province of Hunan in 1980. He graduated from the "Tianjin Art Academy" in 2004, where he specialized in oil painting.

Standing out among his peers, very soon, he was chosen to spread contemporary Chinese art in the Western world. He belongs now to this "new wave" which shatters and tonifies our market and messes up a bit with it, to our delight.

Liu Zhengyong excels at painting the portraits of characters often busted, freed from references that could tie them to a particular context, experiencing feelings that burn them.

His work in oil transmits deep and heavy feelings that reflect the heart, the mind, or even complex experiences encountered in society. Mastering his brush, Liu Zhengyong crushes with a quick gesture the despotic color - sometimes by the limits of pure paint - which transforms each stain in a parcel full of life. The contrast of dark shadows imposed by light makes the flesh of a secret fire temble.

This force in the emotional load is combined with a great contemporaneity and made in the language of the young, Liu Zhengyong has a universal scope.
