Yang Yongliang was born in Shanghai, China in 1980.
He lives and works in Shanghai, China.
Yang Yongliang studied traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy. Inspired by the ancestral culture, including the famous Shanshui traditional mountain landscapes, he uses photography and creates from scratch a new world of illusions, a vision between dream and nightmare, both futuristic and secular. Yang Yongliang’s work goes beyond the notion of pastiche.
By its delicacy, its texture the artist makes a photographic shanshui.
