Magdy Basstorous was born in 1951 in Dandra (Egypt). She lives and works in France, in Souillac in the Lot.
Influenced by the cultural richness of her country of birth, she recreates on her canvas the warm lights of her childhood. Artist with a deep sensibility, she uses pure colors, motifs of all shapes, as well as her inspirations about femininity.
This mix of pastel tones shows a soul always in the expectation of the future and in the nostalgia of her country. Hence, Magdy Basstorous paints everything she likes with carelessness and lightness, with passion and conviction.
