Biography

Philippe is a French artist, based in a small village overlooking the banks of the Loire.

He has always loved sketching, representing, illustrating… and it was during live model lessons that his love for painting and its infinite variations really sparked.

Curious about everything and passionate about painting, the human body, its elegance and its gestures is one of his favorite themes.

Each of its achievements is a real experience where the human and its history have a major role.

His painting is figurative and is inspired by sensations and emotions perceived at the time but also by memories.

Philippe often paints directly with acrylic diluted with a brush on the canvas without going through a sketch and on a background prepared in advance so as not to paint on white!

He likes to play with light, shadows and the different layers of paint, thicker using increasingly large brushes to often finish with plaster spatulas!

Philippe creates an artistic universe without limits both in the themes chosen and in the treatment of a form or a light.

Its favorite color is Glaz, which in Brittany expresses the color of the sea. Neither blue, nor gray, nor green, but a shade that varies from hour to hour depending on the sunshine, the tide, the height of water, depths, season and finally, above all, everyone's eye….
