Ermite du Bois

I grew up admiring art in general thanks to my father, who was a painter and musician, and my grandfather, who was a writer. Growing up in such an environment has undoubtedly influenced my current choice of career as a woodcarver.

I mainly create my works by hand using a gouge without power tools in order to maintain an eco-friendly approach, and I only use reclaimed wood. This is my way of giving a second life to such a noble material. I try to evoke the themes of time and space as well as human emotion through my works. That is why my abstract style combined with a touch of realism suits me perfectly. For me, sculpture is an outlet for my thoughts and feelings, which I express through the noble material of wood.
