Born in 1974 in Dijon. Graduated from Fine Arts in Dijon in 2010 (obtaining the DNSEP Art with the congratulations of the jury). Assistant to Marc Camille Chaimowicz since 2010. Even if Nicolas Rouah is a touch-to-touch artist, his favorite field remains painting. He works in parallel photography, video, sculpture and creates numerous installations. A resolutely graphic artist, he likes to reshape the visible and provoke resonances. He tries to re-activate collective images, to modify our relationship to any universe already memorized. His canvas is a screen, where he likes to project images. He goes from digital space to pictorial material with disconcerting ease… He evokes the idea of a "post-digital" painting. He is inspired by the image of television, colorful trays, the flow of images from the Internet and has a pronounced taste for pop, cheap and bling-bling. The influence of American culture is very present in his paintings. You will also note that all of its titles are in English. He likes to leave the frame, the screen, to free himself from the imposed form. It often leaves the classic formats. This is how his works take on a new dimension, both in substance and in form, to the delight of our eyes… and of our walls.
