Biography
Born in 1945 and part of the “expressionism” movement, here is a rigorous artist, who masters his solidly geometric compositions, and suddenly, he deposits a love of poetry, bubbles of happiness with tender lightness. Under this material with charming, almost enameled colors that radiate like a stained-glass window, Alvard describes life and the environment with humor and gaiety, in compositions bursting with frank colors and luscious shapes. In all simplicity, his "beauties" are generous and sentimental, and his extravagant puppets dispense an unknown musicality, within an ambiguous atmosphere, where the excess and the derisory oscillate in an emotional drive. The art of Alvard: to trigger the impulses of the heart by measuring oneself against the comedy of equivocation, and to fascinate without fear, the impact of a disturbing poetry or a daring dream. But this in no way prevents the painter from composing brilliant bouquets with magical flowers and convincing light.
