Biography
Jean-Luc Garioud, sculptor, was born 1949. Self-taught, he began a professional career in 2007. He lives and works in Lyon, exhibiting mainly in Lyon and in the south of France.
His expression is figurative mainly the human and the animals for subject. He remains attached to the representation of reality and to the “classic” values of sculpture which seeks meaning far from the concept.
He mainly works bronze from wax proofs, cast directly in bronze. Which produces unique pieces. This method influences expression and determines a particular and singular style.
He reworks the bronze proofs himself and creates his patinas, bringing a personal touch.
