Biography
Born in Saint-Etienne, Christophe Pouget is a French artist, who lives and works in Lyon, as a portrait and report photographer. He has been for over 15 years independent graphic designer, worked in Paris for the famous communication agency EURO RSCG as artistic director, with clients like Dior, Vuitton and Nokia. His artistic work is represented by two galleries, in New York and Singapore and exhibited in many international fairs.
Christophe Pouget started his artistic career in 2008, when he created his first photographic assemblies. Focusing on the affective relationship between time and space, his works are inspired by familiar cities in France or by foreign places, encountered during his travels around the world. Rather than a "visual diary", they represent a personal evocation of the emotional feelings that bind him to a specific place he chooses.
In this respect, the art of Christophe Pouget could be linked to the recent scientific discovery of the brain's "geotagging system", consisting of specialized cells that associate places with events and produce mental maps.
