Anthony Ferrero (Wear One)

France Born in: 1990

Antony Ferrero is a French artist born in 1990.

He began painting at a very early age, at the age of 13, and regarded art as an obvious thing to do. Until then, he mainly devoted himself to graffiti and then turned to a practice closer to fine arts and decided to devote himself to it full-time.

Completely self-taught, he creates his work by hand. His work finds its essence in a fantasy world where craziness is allowed. He cuts and transforms his characters according to his desire and invents new portraits. His work is still in a phase of discovery and research. The work of the artist is defined and perfected in along with the experiences he has gone through.

His approach is divided into two parts. First of all the visual of his works. In his eyes, he gives great importance to cleanliness, aestheticism and details. His work is figurative and he makes it visually accessible. The second part is the message or idea transmitted. Most of the time, the foundation of his work is only the depiction of the slow decadence of our system.

Most of his pieces has a socio-political dimension. He tends to highlight societal dysfunction, inequality or opulence. He seeks to instill a reaction among the people who observe his paintings. The goal is to create awareness, that everyone understands that behind the sober and coveted emblems of consumption, there are multinationals who abuse their privileges.

Anthony Ferrero uses different techniques, he likes using pastels, charcoal, acrylic and spray.

He has participated in numerous exhibitions all around the world from France to Dubai.

In recent years, he has had a series of exhibitions and events, including a solo show at the 36th Art Gallery in 2016, a solo show at the Graffalgar in 2019 and a group exhibition at the Superposition Gallery in 2019. This year he also participated in the Saato project, with a publication in the book "Confinement" (Sandrot Éditions). He has also exhibited abroad, in Dubai and Germany.
