Biography
"I hang popular oriental tapestries on large frames," says Philippe Jacq, "Mecca, harem, landscape, lion hunting in the desert ... And I sew pieces of popular Western tapestries on them, hunting with hounds, ballerina, old mill , christ scene ... roses ... often of classical and academic inspiration. The friction between the different motifs presents stories, scenarios like so many often humorous hypotheses. I see these paintings as a metaphor for the current state of the world (mixture of cultures, "ethnic mix", questioning of identity. "
