David LK's work repeatedly questions the face as the main site of the emergence of the conflict between evil and fragility. His work is mainly made from pastels (dry or oily). In the larger formats, the face gives way to allegorized figures which suppress the "overflow" of details by a search for purity. The elements then tend to concentrate in recurring archetypal motifs: stelae, a star, a flower, a star, a piece of a crown, an eye, etc. The search for intense colors and the passion for large areas are then materialized in works silkscreened on paper. Nevertheless, surfaces that are a priori more raw - such as cardboard - turn out to be materials of first choice for him.
David LK also teaches philosophy - an activity on speech and thought that cannot be dissociated from his artistic work. He lives in France and Switzerland and is particularly fond of the Orient, which he travels regularly on foot and by car. He was born in 1972.
