Biography
Born in 1954 in the United States to an American father and a French mother, the painter's youth was marked by a double culture and an initial duality. Davis Dutreix's world is made of shadow and light, it recalls the earthly paradise confronted with an interpretation of a gloomy world where a marvelous universe contrasts with isolated individuals in their oxygen masks.
A vision of an era in the future, inherited from the nuclear age. The claim is beautiful and powerful, in a modern figurative world resulting from the experience of fresco appropriation close to street art where there are certain codes and certain acronyms.
