Biography
Daniel Richter is a German artist. Born in 1962, Richter studied at the University of FIne Arts, Hamburg before becoming a professor at the University of Art, Berlin from 2004 to 2006.
Originally a proponent of abstract art, Richter's works became more figurative as his style developed. His later paintings are inspired by popular culture and mass media.
Richter's works can be found in the permanent collections of several international institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Bonn Museum of Modern Art and the Centre Pompidou.
