Arijac was born in Gonaives, Haiti in 1937. He studied architecture at the International Correspondence School. In 1965 he exhibited his first works at the American Institute, then in 1967 at the French Institute and the São Paulo Biennial. He participated in several exhibitions in New York. Sacha Thebaud taught him how to paint with an encaustic method, using a mixture of beeswax, turpentine, and pigment, a technique widely employed in the times of Alexander the Great to the XVII Century A.D.
