Reza Shafahi

Reza Shafahi was born on February 16, 1939 in Saveh, where he continued his primary and secondary education. After his baccalaureate (1958) he became a civil servant in the education system and head of his department. He continued his studies thanks to his military service during which he obtained his license in management. Also during the period of military service he became responsible for 22 secondary schools, wrestling trainer, municipal supervisor of physical education, etc.

He has always been drawn to literature, music, theater, painting and sports, but unfortunately due to the absence of establishments he has not been able to cultivate his interests and talents. His great love for wrestling led him to obtain a trainer's certificate and to organize training in Saveh. He was honored by the municipality and the Ministry of Education for his commitments. But after the Revolution, he was banned from the education system after 22 years of work. For having protested against this decision, he was forced to retire.

Encouraged by his son who works in the field of fine arts, he started painting in 2013. He exhibited at Magic of Persia in Dubai, he participated in a group exhibition in Malborough Chelsea Gallery New York, and he had a solo exhibition at Erratum Galerie in Berlin.

Novels, Khayyam poetry, cinema, television and news from Iran and the world are the main sources of inspiration for his works.
