Dorit Levinstein

Born in 1956 in Haifa, Israel. She lives and works in Tel Aviv.
Graduated in graphic art and design in 1978.
She studied painting and sculpture at the Art Institute of High-Avni TEL AVIV until 1984 She completed her art studies at the Academy of Ramat – HASHORON.
Thereafter it will offer courses at Avni Institute of Art between 1985-1988 while continuing his work as a sculptor and painter in his own studio in Tel-Aviv. Since 1988, she teaches sculpture and painting. That same year, she received an award for excellence by the Soho Gallery NEW YORK for his drawing « Old Lady. » Since 1989 she is a member of the « Association of sculptor and painter » to TEL AVIV.
The artist was inspired several years by artists such as Gaudi, Klimt and Niki de Saint Phalle, and a number of American pop artists and modern sculptors. Create sculptures that make you want to smile, has become over the years the sincere aim of the art of Dorit Levinstein.
Dorit creates original polychrome bronze sculptures; each piece is a unique original creation entirely hand-painted by the artist. The style is sometimes Dorit sometimes figurative abstract.
The originality of Dorit is its personality. She has this ability to give eminently feminine desire to live with others. Through his works, Dorit invites into his world of signs, colors, images and shapes. Its elegant sculptures seem to laugh, then expand with exquisite elasticity to find their position in space. The statues have their volume from a solid line referring to human figures, animals, flowers and ordinary household objects.
