Pietro Pancotto was born in Rome on 16 February 1967, in the Monteverde neighborhood, where he currently lives. His education is scientific, first the scientific high school and then the "La Sapienza" University of Rome, where he graduated in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technologies. Restless and curious, he moved from basic research to applied research, and then, after a period of clinical research, began his career in marketing. His professional history is characterized by a perennial search for his IKIGAI, the "reason for being" or "something to live for", a reason to get up in the morning, a connection between: PASSION, PROFESSION, VOCATION and MISSION.
Passionate about photography, particularly black and white photography, he has always tried to steal and freeze the moment, invisible to the subject's eye, returning the emotion of the moment to the observer.
During the lockdown, in March 2020, he started painting, a sort of catharsis to try to escape forced isolation. He is inspired by painters such as Warhol, Lichtenstein, Basquiat, Rauschenberg, Pollock, Banksy, Picasso, Mimmo Rotella and Lucia Marcucci whose colors and messages he loves. Pietro Pancotto pours images, paintings, photographs into his own world of colors, adding a third dimension, the word: WORDSANDCOLORS. He tries to transfer the practice of years of work in marketing and communication into his own painting, enhancing the emotional experience of the painting through words. And precisely through the instrument of the word that wants to give an opinion of him, he wants to take sides. He does not want to appear indifferent, neutral to what happens, rather he wants to give a version of himself, a vision, he wants to stimulate conscience and reflection in those who observe it, even upsetting him. WORDSANDCOLORS is a poetic and artistic assault on consciences dormant in silence.

From February 2021 to July 22 permanent exhibition at the Spazio Cima gallery in Rome.
28 January – 28 February 2021: participation in the online collective exhibition “The Change" on the Kunst Matrix platform with three paintings.
January 2021: selected with the painting "HYPOTHESIS OF LIVES" to be exhibited on the website www.lekoruproject.it, in the future digital exhibition and in the spaces of the Tempio del Futuro Perduto, in Milan.
April 2021: included in the short list of finalists of the contest organized by the NO NAME COLLECTIVE GALLERY in London with the work "Un Certain Regard". Publication in the April issue of the NNC Art Magazine Nnc March 21 Magazine Print
