Description
Some elements of the shot are still, others are in motion. In this shot, I tried to interact with the brightness of the flowers and the movement of the bees as they moved from one to another.
In the darkroom, I worked to further bring out these movements. The glow of the flowers is like an aura that surrounds them but does not hide them, revealing the tiny details that make this print look like a bird's-eye view of a small town or a distant view of a constellation dotted with tiny suns.
We tend to see plants as static. But to me, they move constantly — in ways we often fail to notice.
This is my way of making those movements visible.

Presentation
I'm Francesco Mussida, an Italian fine art photographer and darkroom fine art printer working exclusively with black and white analog processes.
My studio is based in Abruzzo (Italy), I work with vintage cameras, film, and silver gelatin paper.
My main focus is the relationship between humans and the plant world, explored through posture, gesture, and the emotional qualities of form. I aim to reveal not only what nature looks like, but how it feels.
I choose to photograph analog to preserve the natural distance between observer and subject. In a world dominated by speed and control, I value variables: time, light, movements and the imperfections they bring.
