Utubor Shadrach Melvin in Nigerian visual artist. He uses the human figure to explore spirituality, emotion, and ideas around gender and identity. Through expressive brushstrokes, bold colour, and movement, he creates figures carrying tension, silence, and inner presence rather than perfection, inviting viewers into familiar but unspoken human experiences.
He holds a National Diploma in General Art and a Higher National Diploma in Painting from Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, and was mentored by Nigerian contemporary painter and draughtsman Edosa Oguigo. His work sits between emotion, spirituality, and form, inviting viewers into familiar but unspoken human experiences.
