Biography
Brian Uhing is a surrealist, born in 1975. Uhing's refined surrealist paintings are influenced by The old masters styles. He has been participating in the local and international art scene for some time now, with significant works like "The Plight of Lady Vanity" auctioned at Sotheby's Hong Kong at record prices. His process of weaving the weird and often times humorous elements into a seemingly classical setting adds a sense of surprise to his work.
Uhing states "My process is very traditional, I lean towards the venetian and flemish practice of painting. So in other words, glazing galore, but regarding the Surrealism, those elements are not added for the sake of being fanciful and strange, But are tightly meshed within the narrative of the piece, my work requires that you take the time to string together the story, and in there lies the reward!
