Biography
Manuel Pais Costa is a Portuguese artist who lives and works in Granja, Portugal. A retired farmer, the world of the farm has always fascinated him. Collector of agricultural objects, he brings his collection to life by staging it in his own museum, which leads him to his first plastic creations. He practices a naive art of material recovery, which he shapes to create sculptures, installations and ready-mades recounting his years cultivating his land and raising his animals. Through his works, he pays homage to his beloved nature.
