Biography
José Fonte is a Portuguese artist and lives in Portugal. He started painting in 1990 and had his first exhibition in 1992. He studied Painting in Coimbra and graduated in 2001.
I was self-taught. From the moment I won a national award, my goal was to be educated. I worked to pay for my studies. It was a complicated but accomplished phase. I have done individual and group exhibitions. University education opened the way for me to be more willing to participate in
national competitions where I won a few prizes. I have done exhibitions abroad, particularly in Spain. I dream of having an international career. To be recognized for my work. Leave a village in central Portugal and have my work recognized in this world. This is my dream. I don't want to stop.
