Edouard Emeliyantsev

Eduard was born in 1967 in the city of Jankoy in Crimea. He graduated from Transport College and worked as a locksmith, maintenance worker, bus depot mechanic, blacksmith, and draftsman. He was hospitalized six times in psychiatric establishments during the period 1993-2000 and was treated for hallucinations and delirium.

He did not receive any formal artistic training, but cooperated with the Crimean Center for Art Therapy. Eduard has been painting since he was 10 years old. His works are often compared to science fiction illustrations, although he denies such a direct relationship. He believes he is simply portraying his own alternate world - a world that seems to echo science fiction novels and movies, but for Eduard, it's just his personal take.
