Guillermo Simón (Villaviciosa, 1968) is an artist who began his training by obtaining a degree in Fine Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Bilbao and subsequently continued his studies at the École Supérieure Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. His work generally depicts intense seascapes that border on abstract expressionism, but where the power of the sea and the intensity of each drop of water come alive.
Guillermo Simón has held 33 solo exhibitions and participated in over 100 group exhibitions to date in numerous national and international institutions. He has won many painting awards, and his work is featured in various public and private collections.
His work is present in collections and museums, including the Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias. Cristina Masaveu Foundation Collection, Princess of Asturias Foundation, Husa Hotels Collection, NH Collection, El Corte Inglés Collection, Mapfre Seguros Collection, Cajastur, Caixa d'Orense, Evaristo Valle Museum Foundation, José Cardín Foundation, Carriegos Foundation, Luanco Maritime Museum, Villaviciosa City Hall, Noreña City Hall, Siero Culture Foundation, Luarca City Hall and Navia City Hall.
In addition, he has received important awards in painting prizes and biennials such as the first prize "Jesús Villa Pastur" National Biennial of Gastronomy Painting, the first prize I National Painting Competition of Villaviciosa, the first prize Astur-Joven, El Corte Inglés, the first prize and the gold medal at the XXIVth National Painting Competition of Luarca.
