Iván Araujo

Iván Araujo (Madrid, 1971), has a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts completed in the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He has been part of numerous individual and also collective exhibitions and has won several prices as well.

His works are the reflection of hours of experimentation with painting and engraving, where different elements can be seen such as acrylic, collage and mixed technique. Moreover, there is a strong influence from different artistic expressions such as Cubism, (especially Juan Gris) as well as Pop art, especially from metaphysical painting where the influence is seen more deeply.

A powerful range of colours and a volumetric composition typify his paintings. His characters are introduced in isolated oneiric landscapes and rooms. Overall, they would make you think about the truth of what is really being depicted.

Generally speaking, Araujo focuses on an essencial key in the exploration of himself as an artist in addition to the reality which surrounds him. A special strength is achieved through common elements of life. Not only that, but also the artist is capable of giving these objects a new meaning. What we can see is a universe load of metaphors in which, you as an observer, are entrusted with the aim of finding your own personal meaning.
