Léon Gaud

Biography

Artist student of Barthélémy Menn, he exhibited in 1862 landscapes of the surroundings of Geneva and the shores of Lake Geneva, country scenes and portraits, which earned him the silver medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1900.


He also painted decorative panels which adorn in particular the staircase of the Grand Theater and the old town hall of Plainpalais. In 1902, he directed the upper course of the School of Fine Arts where he succeeded his former master.

Died in 1908.
