Biography
Arnie Lebenson is a French-British artist who works on themes such as transparency and the ordinary, and art visited in its neo-retinal form. He lives between London and Paris since 2004, after 2 years in Antwerp, where he composed electronic serial music. He meets personalities of contemporary art such as Boltanski, Blais, Carlos Amorales, Tim and Sue Webster.
His work deals with themes connected with the Internet and presents the apparition of "sur-fascism". He examines and suspends this monstrous nature through a kabbalistic lecture of signs. For his new work on robots, he revisits the theme of the Golem in his monumental sculptures. The association of signs and symbols transmits a new hermeneutic lecture of the yiddish tale.
For his series of paintings “2 Million Pixels” he exposes the world as it is read, captures and definitively sealed from an operating pixel. For his work "Roll Over", he plays with ultra-pop performances (roller girl on canvas) in order to integrate the post-duchampian idea of the art gazinf upon itself.
