Hyo Myoung Kim

Hyo Myoung Kim is a photographer and a digital artist.

He is born in 1972 in South Korea in Seoul and lives in London today.

Hyo Myoung Kim studied photography in 2006 at the art school in Camberwell, London This is when he realizes that he has to learn everything about this practice, and go beyond the traditional teachings. Following this in 2010, he studied digital art at Slade School.

Hyo Myoung Kim offers a visual experience through his work. Even though, photography is his favorite medium, it's the digital specter which composes his raw material.

Gathering new medias and technologies, Hyo Myoung Kim offers a complete work based on images but also sounds, videos or installations. He highlights animated images and draws inspiration from them and exploits their technology advances.

He deconstructs our relationship with image and plays around with the borders between the digital and physical aspect. In this manner, he encourages us to think about the future of our environment, the development of internet and the notion of network.

It's all about connection, the one that exists between pixels of a digital image, like between individuals. He leans on algorithms like Google search image or video games to make up his reflection and work.

2004 onwards, he started to exhibit his work througout the world, beginning with United Kingdom, but also managed to conquer America and Europe, not to mention South Korea.
