Biography
Shara Hughes is an American painter, born in Atlanta in 1981. Having trained at the Rhode Island School of Design, Hughes’ personal style is characterized by dizzying brushstrokes and vibrant colors, used to create sweeping and lush landscapes. The artist’s ability to capture the ephemeral and dreamlike essence of nature has garnered critical acclaim in recent years.
The artist has featured in solo exhibitions at FLAG Art Foundation, New York; Kunstmuseum Luzern, Switzerland; Yuz Museum, Shanghai; Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis; Garden Museum, London; Aspen Museum of Art, Colorado; and Le Consortium, Dijon, France.
