My compositions emerge as traces — forms that seem to appear and dissolve at the same time, like something remembered but never fully grasped.
PUGMATIK is a contemporary abstract artist and award-winning designer whose practice explores memory, transformation, and the fragile states between appearance and disappearance.
Alesia graduated from the A.M. Shirokov Institute of Modern Knowledge with a degree in Virtual Environment Design and has been a member of the Belarusian Union of Designers since 2013. Alongside her artistic practice, she has built an internationally recognized career in branding and packaging design, receiving awards from organizations including GDUSA (USA), Pentawards (Belgium), World Brand Design Society (UK), and A' Design Award (Italy).
This background in visual systems and layered communication strongly informs her painting practice. Working primarily with acrylic abstraction, PUGMATIK creates atmospheric compositions that exist between presence and erosion, structure and dissolution. Her artworks emerge through gradual layering processes in which traces, textures, and translucent forms partially conceal one another, embedding a sense of time into the surface.
Rather than depicting literal landscapes, her works evoke emotional and psychological atmospheres. Soft diffused structures interact with more defined gestures, creating tension between stability and disappearance. Memory, perception, and transformation become central themes, while the image itself remains intentionally unresolved and open to interpretation.
Her visual language reflects both designerly precision and intuitive experimentation, balancing restraint with emotional depth. The artworks function as meditative spaces where forms seem to appear and fade simultaneously, like fragments of memory that cannot be fully recovered.
PUGMATIK will present new work at REDISCOVERED by The Holy Art Gallery in Barcelona in 2026.
Through abstraction and layered surfaces, PUGMATIK creates paintings that explore transformation not as rupture, but as a continuous and quiet process of becoming.
