California-based artist Anne-Louise Ewen paints vivacious gestural works that emphasize brush work, color and above all, freedom.
Ewen's work includes paintings, mixed-media hand-painted multiples, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, and books.
In 2020 she moved house and studio from Los Angeles to Joshua Tree, a scrappy artistic community in the Mojave Desert.
Born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Studied painting, printmaking and figure drawing in Paris, France 1994-1996.
