Biography
Born in 1983, Loie Hollowell is an American painter based in New York. She received her MFA in painting from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2012.
Hollowell's paintings and drawings explore abstracted bodily forms in geometric, colorful compositions. Investigating themes of sexuality, birth and pregnancy, Hollowell produces striking depictions of physicality.
Recent exhibitions of Hollowell's work have taken place in Florida, Shanghai, Paris and New York.
