Description
Konstantin Kornakov has reimagined Tarot cards by incorporating his unique aesthetic, characterized by the use of characters from his series "The Sub-Cones." This project merges the traditional imagery of Tarot with contemporary and urban elements, creating a distinctive visual language.
The Magician (I)
The Magician represents beginnings and potential. He is often seen as a symbol of the young man or the novice, ready to embark on a new path. In front of him lie various objects representing the four elements (earth, water, fire, air) as well as different aspects of human life. His hat, forming the symbol of infinity, highlights the endless possibilities available to him.
Symbolism: Creative energy, initiative, decision-making. The Magician embodies youth and the spark of starting anew, with the ability to be inventive and navigate diverse situations.
Interpretation: Upright: It suggests new opportunities, promising beginnings, and a dynamic approach to challenges. Reversed: It may indicate a lack of focus or experience, urging reflection on true skills before taking action.
Presentation
Painter and designer, Konstantin Kornakov is also a photographer. His images have the particularity that even if he photographs elements he sees and finds in the street, they represent neither people, nor objects, nor real landscapes.
He uses his device less as a means of recording reality than as an instrument of vision. Because what he photographs are visions first of all. He need indeed have had some kind of visual revelation to be able, then, to press the shutter.
His motives are fragments of urban landscapes, non-identifiable corners with no importance for "where", but with its plastic quality, the visual event, the fact of appearance of an element of beauty in the cacophony of the world.
