Description
This work was born from the depths of my personal experience—as subtle as smoke, yet as weighty as an inheritance. Once, money felt alien, shameful; to take it was like asking permission to exist. Then came a burning desire for more, an unquenchable thirst.
Fish Money is an inner journey through the shadows of ancestral beliefs, through the silent family attitudes that lived within me unseen, yet powerfully. It's a conversation with the invisible boundaries that separated me from the feeling of abundance. It's about a change in state—where fear gives way to trust, where financial blocks melt in the warmth of awareness.
This work is like the echo of an old prayer, rewritten with new words.
Presentation
In her artistic practice, Iryna Burda explores the subtle and often invisible mechanisms that govern the human inner world. Through symbolic imagery, subconscious metaphors, and a deeply emotional visual language, she delves into themes of personal boundaries, fears, stereotypes, and transformation.
The fish, as a central symbol in her works, becomes both a guide and a trap — a representation of intuition and unconscious impulses. Its layered presence on the canvas highlights the complexity of self-encounter, where every moment of introspection may lead to growth or pose a challenge.
Iryna invites the viewer not only to observe, but to engage — to feel, recognize, and live through the experience. Her art is a journey into the depths of the psyche, where chaos transforms into harmony, and every crisis opens the door to a new dimension of the self.
Iryna Burda is an artist and mother of two sons. Her projects explore the influence of subconscious beliefs on identity. Her work is a visual exploration of self-acceptance, inner conflict, and personal transformation.
