Description

There are eyes everywhere1: Conceptual Monochrome Liner Drawing on Paper

Incorporate thought-provoking black and white fine art into your home with this stunning surrealist landscape. Hand-drawn with precision, "There are eyes everywhere1" (30x30 cm / 11.8x11.8 inches) invites viewers into a quiet woodland that watches them in return. The artist employs delicate liners on paper to render a textured birch grove where realistic human eyes emerge from the bark, symbolizing the mutual nature of observation in our highly connected, modern digital age. Far from threatening, the gaze prompts gentle reflection on how our presence alters our surroundings. This detailed graphic artwork is perfectly sized for modern interior walls, blending beautifully with monochromatic or minimalist decor. It serves as a striking centerpiece for a study, bedroom, or creative workshop, and makes a memorable gift for art lovers looking for a piece with deep philosophical resonance.

Presentation

Dina Kot is a contemporary artist. She graduated from Penza State University of Architecture and Construction with a degree in Design in 2014. Her work has been presented in numerous solo exhibitions, including Collection at the Savitsky Governor's House Gallery and Images and Images 2.0 at the Literary Museum in Penza. She has also participated in major group exhibitions, including The Art of Labor. Time Forward in Moscow, Cultural Code(t) at Omelchenko Gallery, and the international exhibition Reunion at Nandala Gallery and the Rabindranath Tagore Centre at ICCR in Kolkata, India. Her work is included in the collection of the Savitsky Penza Art Gallery.

Dina works across painting and graphic art, exploring how perception transforms ordinary subjects into something unexpected. Rather than searching for extraordinary themes, she reveals the hidden potential of everyday objects, inviting viewers to see familiar things through a different lens.

Material plays a central role in her practice. In graphic works, she uses precise line and layered symbolism to uncover new meanings, while in painting she builds expressive impasto surfaces that dissolve into abstraction at close range and gradually resolve into recognizable images from a distance. This constant shift between material, image, and perception forms the foundation of her visual language.

Through both mediums, Dina Kot examines the quiet miracle of seeing—how paint, ink, and the act of observation itself can reshape reality and reveal unexpected beauty within the ordinary.
