Description

Intrigue: Round Rabbit Artwork with Bold Color and Impasto

Textured rabbit artwork offers an inviting addition to a collection with "Intrigue" (75 x 75 x 2 cm / 29.53 x 29.53 x 0.79 in) by Dina Kot. Created in oil on canvas, this unique circular work brings five rabbits together around a table, where a bottle and glasses hint at an evening among friends. Nothing needs to be said: their closeness suggests that everyone is already in on the secret.

Bright scarlet and dark navy figures contrast with a slate-blue background and a warm cream tabletop. Thick, curling marks animate every area, making the surface as engaging as the story. Golden-green accents draw attention to the drinks, while the enclosing circle gives the gathering a private, almost stage-like atmosphere. Humor remains gentle, centered on curiosity and the pleasure of being included.

The artwork suits modern interiors that welcome character, from an eclectic dining area to a relaxed living room. It is an ideal gift for an animal lover or a friend with a taste for witty decor. Signed on the back and presented without a frame, it offers collectors a distinctive balance of expressive texture and social observation.

Presentation

Dina Kot is a contemporary artist. She graduated from Penza State University of Architecture and Construction with a degree in Design in 2014. Her work has been presented in numerous solo exhibitions, including Collection at the Savitsky Governor's House Gallery and Images and Images 2.0 at the Literary Museum in Penza. She has also participated in major group exhibitions, including The Art of Labor. Time Forward in Moscow, Cultural Code(t) at Omelchenko Gallery, and the international exhibition Reunion at Nandala Gallery and the Rabindranath Tagore Centre at ICCR in Kolkata, India. Her work is included in the collection of the Savitsky Penza Art Gallery.

Dina works across painting and graphic art, exploring how perception transforms ordinary subjects into something unexpected. Rather than searching for extraordinary themes, she reveals the hidden potential of everyday objects, inviting viewers to see familiar things through a different lens.

Material plays a central role in her practice. In graphic works, she uses precise line and layered symbolism to uncover new meanings, while in painting she builds expressive impasto surfaces that dissolve into abstraction at close range and gradually resolve into recognizable images from a distance. This constant shift between material, image, and perception forms the foundation of her visual language.

Through both mediums, Dina Kot examines the quiet miracle of seeing—how paint, ink, and the act of observation itself can reshape reality and reveal unexpected beauty within the ordinary.
