Description
This vibrant still life captures a quiet moment of reading and relaxation. An open book rests among a collection of colourful books, accompanied by a cup of tea, fresh fruit and a glass bottle on a round table. The scene is simple and familiar, but I wanted to transform these everyday objects through colour, pattern and composition.
Books are the main focus of the composition, creating a sense of curiosity, imagination and time spent away from the rush of everyday life. The open pages invite the viewer into the scene, while the surrounding objects suggest a slow and comfortable afternoon — a cup of tea, something fresh to eat and plenty of time to read.
Presentation
Alina Timoshenko is a contemporary artist working primarily in oil pastel, alongside oil and acrylic. Her vibrant figurative paintings and still lifes celebrate the beauty of everyday life through expressive color, simplified forms, and bold graphic compositions.
Inspired by ordinary moments, she transforms familiar subjects into joyful, emotionally resonant images that invite viewers to slow down and appreciate color, light, and the quiet pleasures of everyday life. Her work has been selected for international exhibitions and editorial projects as she continues to expand her presence within the contemporary art community.
