Description
The artist seizes a moment of absolute calm. A woman immerses herself in her reading, isolated from the outside world. The frame is divided into two distinct areas. On the left, a vertical turquoise surface imposes its presence. It acts as a curtain or a wall that fragments the space.
The subject rests on a sofa whose striped patterns bring geometric structure. The ochre and beige tones of the background create a cozy atmosphere. The composition plays on the contrast between the rigor of the lines and the softness of the pose.
The acrylic technique allows for precise touches and subtle superimpositions. The cast shadow and reflections suggest natural, subdued light. This work explores serene solitude and everyday life. The gaze falls on the open book, the focus of the character. The execution emphasizes the simplicity of a suspended moment, treated with great visual accuracy.
Presentation
Graduated in Art History from the University of Barcelona. Master in Communication and Art Criticism (Girona) with Thyssen scholarship. Assistant to the workshops of the Artistic Circle of Sant Lluc since 1998, to the Watercolorist workshops of Catalonia (1990-94, Barcelona), to the engraving workshop of La Rectoria de Sant Pere de Vilamajor (2000, Barcelona) and to the Paper d art of Elaine Koretsky in Capellades.
His work has been exhibited in different cities and countries in Europe, such as Switzerland, Vienna, Germany, Paris, as well as in New Jersey (USA).
She has also been shortlisted for different awards, getting first prize in some of them.
Since 2003, he has illustrated many children's stories, many of them for the publisher "La meceua editorial".
