Description

Vacation: Humorous Dog and Cocktail Artwork for Modern Interiors

Dog and cocktail artwork invites a closer look in "Vacation" (21 x 29.7 x 0.1 cm / 8.27 x 11.69 x 0.04 in), a unique piece to welcome into a personal collection. Made by Dina Kot with liners and watercolor on paper, it measures width, height, and depth as listed above. A dog wearing white sunglasses appears to have suspended every obligation, leaving only the pleasant question of another cocktail. The humor lies in this recognizable human longing for a pause, not in the idea of a particular destination. Dark, finely worked fur meets bold dotted bands, clear blue washes, and the peach geometry of the foreground table. An orange drink adds a warm accent to the graphic composition. This playful figurative artwork brings personality to modern decor while keeping its message light and direct. Its compact portrait format works well in a living room, home bar, or relaxed office. For collectors drawn to expressive animals and decorative detail, it offers both visual energy and an affectionate observation of everyday life. Hand-signed on the back and supplied unframed, it also makes a meaningful gift for a dog lover who deserves some downtime.

Presentation

Dina Kot is a contemporary artist. She graduated from Penza State University of Architecture and Construction with a degree in Design in 2014. Her work has been presented in numerous solo exhibitions, including Collection at the Savitsky Governor's House Gallery and Images and Images 2.0 at the Literary Museum in Penza. She has also participated in major group exhibitions, including The Art of Labor. Time Forward in Moscow, Cultural Code(t) at Omelchenko Gallery, and the international exhibition Reunion at Nandala Gallery and the Rabindranath Tagore Centre at ICCR in Kolkata, India. Her work is included in the collection of the Savitsky Penza Art Gallery.

Dina works across painting and graphic art, exploring how perception transforms ordinary subjects into something unexpected. Rather than searching for extraordinary themes, she reveals the hidden potential of everyday objects, inviting viewers to see familiar things through a different lens.

Material plays a central role in her practice. In graphic works, she uses precise line and layered symbolism to uncover new meanings, while in painting she builds expressive impasto surfaces that dissolve into abstraction at close range and gradually resolve into recognizable images from a distance. This constant shift between material, image, and perception forms the foundation of her visual language.

Through both mediums, Dina Kot examines the quiet miracle of seeing—how paint, ink, and the act of observation itself can reshape reality and reveal unexpected beauty within the ordinary.
