Goldorak—or Grendizer as known in the US—was created by manga artist Go Nagai. Goldorak is the lead character from a Japanese anime TV series from the '70s. It was an adventure series about gigantic robots, a genre also known as "mecha", a strain of manga. With much success, the show branched out into two more defined series: Great Mazinger and Goldorak. The show became wildly popular in France, becoming a true generational phenomenon. Go Nagai's iron giants have left an undeniable mark on pop culture and the melodramatic series has since taken the form of nostalgia. What better way to keep the memory of Goldorak alive than to immortalize it through art!
