Description
This abstract artwork bursts with dynamic shapes and a vivid color palette. Bold swaths of red, orange, and burgundy contrast sharply with cooler tones of blue and green, creating a striking visual tension. Organic forms intertwine across the canvas, suggestive of nature-inspired motifs without adhering to any recognizable subject. The interplay between light and dark hues adds depth, inviting viewers to explore the layers of overlapping shapes. This complex composition challenges conventional perceptions, encouraging multiple interpretations. The artist’s innovative use of negative space enhances the artwork’s fluidity, allowing each section to breathe while maintaining a cohesive structure. The painting’s energetic rhythm and bold abstraction capture an evocative sense of movement, engaging viewers in an immersive visual dialogue.

Presentation
Alejandra Quintanilla studied and received a degree in Arts at the University of Monterrey UDEM.
This new series is born from a search to leave aside the narrative figurative and reduce the image to shape and colour.
The series starts with both images found as well as her own images, previous pieces, from her palette, from drawings, in a self-referential way.
The process of creating a painting leaves a series of created elements and randomly they become the starting point for the next piece. It is a process of adding and removing; always keeping in mind the history of abstract art.
A drawing is a brand, which becomes a picture and leaves remains that become the beginning again. This creates a reflection on time and importance of the process in painting.
She also attended a residency program at the Cooper Union School of Art in New York.
Her work has been exposed to individuals and collections in museums in Mexico, the United States, Bolivia and Brazil. She was a selected artist at the Monterrey Arts Center at the 16th General Assembly at the Center Roberto Garza Sada. And from a collectivist group, she exhibited at the Marco Museum (Mty), Rufino Tamayo Museum (Mexico, DF), Palazzo Delle Papesse (Siena, Italy), Arts Center (Mty), Museo del Chopo (Mexico, DF).
Her work was selected in XIV Bienal de Pintura Rufino Tamayo, ARTEMERGENTE Bienal Monterrey, Third and Monterrey, to name a few and her work was exhibited in fairs as well as in Maco in the Arco de Madrid.
Her work was in the collection of the Museum of Fine Art, Houston and the Museum of Latin American Art, California.
