Description
This artwork is a dynamic diptych featuring abstract, organic shapes in vibrant colors, expertly balancing form and hue. Each panel is composed of overlapping, curvilinear forms, creating a harmonious yet stimulating composition. The left panel exhibits a lively blend of orange, pink, and gray tones juxtaposed with greens and deep blue, while the right side mirrors these colors with subtle variations, introducing light blue and different shades of gray. The use of negative space is masterful, allowing each shape to breathe and the overall composition to maintain clarity and rhythm. The artist's precise use of color blocking and form manipulation invites viewers to explore the interplay of contrast and cohesion, generating a sense of depth and movement. This piece embodies a bold exploration of color theory and spatial organization, engaging viewers through its visual and conceptual intricacies.
The process of creating a painting leaves behind a series of elements that become the starting point for a new piece. A mark, a line, color and shape become elements of a new painting as well as subject matter. Making the viewer aware of both time and process in painting. t's a series that is self-referential while at the same time keeping in mind the history of abstract art. Alejandra Quintanilla's paintings presents an explosive variety of abstract shapes and striking colors, which dynamically intertwine on canvas and paper. The organic shapes suggest movement, as if caught in an eternal dance, evoking the chaos and beauty of a wild garden or an abstract landscape. Quintanilla's works stand out for their energetic composition, where each color and shape competes for attention but is part of an integrated whole. The artist's mastery of combining sharp edges with softer transitions invites the viewer to explore the depths and layers of the piece.

Presentation
Alejandra Quintanilla studied and received a degree in Arts at the University of Monterrey UDEM.
This new series is born from a search to leave aside the narrative figurative and reduce the image to shape and colour.
The series starts with both images found as well as her own images, previous pieces, from her palette, from drawings, in a self-referential way.
The process of creating a painting leaves a series of created elements and randomly they become the starting point for the next piece. It is a process of adding and removing; always keeping in mind the history of abstract art.
A drawing is a brand, which becomes a picture and leaves remains that become the beginning again. This creates a reflection on time and importance of the process in painting.
She also attended a residency program at the Cooper Union School of Art in New York.
Her work has been exposed to individuals and collections in museums in Mexico, the United States, Bolivia and Brazil. She was a selected artist at the Monterrey Arts Center at the 16th General Assembly at the Center Roberto Garza Sada. And from a collectivist group, she exhibited at the Marco Museum (Mty), Rufino Tamayo Museum (Mexico, DF), Palazzo Delle Papesse (Siena, Italy), Arts Center (Mty), Museo del Chopo (Mexico, DF).
