Figurative Portrait Painting Featuring Grey Taupe Black. Ly Hung Anh is known for his figurative oil on canvas paintings, he often paints members of his family in black, white and grey. “Mother and Child” (Anh's wife and son) is a typical example of his style where he also demonstrates his ability to include extensive texture to the piece.Ly Hung Anh, born in 1975 in Hanoi, is known for his simple, less-use-of-colors but rich-in-expressing-emotion style of painting. His early works mainly depicted his family members, with the use of only black, white and gray colors demonstrated his ability to include extensive texture to the piece. His paintings are concerned with close subjects in everyday life. For Ly Hung Anh, not only human but the small objects from the chair, old shoes, to the waiting room at the morgue ... have their own fate and soul.

Ly Hung Anh was born in Hanoi, Vietnam in 1975 where he currently lives. Known for his figurative oil on canvas paintings, he often paints members of his family in black, white and grey.

Anh has had many group and individual exhibitions throughout Asia including his competitive selection at the Ernst & Young Asian Art Outreach in Singapore and at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum and the Asian Painting Competition for Awards sponsored by Phillip Morris.
