Presentation
It was by seeing the paintings of his great-grandfather, Augustin Lesage, that Christian Allard formed his taste for art. This will be his only artistic training!
Completely self-taught, he only took up brushes in 1997 while waiting for a happy family event…!
Since that day, he has painted more than 300 paintings, some of which have taken him several hundred hours.
He explains that he does not know what he is going to achieve, that he expresses feelings linked to travels, including Egypt, where he remade the journey made in 1939 by his great-grandfather. From the accumulation of colors and shapes, sometimes faces, animal heads, known or unknown shapes appear, eyes or gazes multiply on the canvas ...
“Completely made free, the symmetry, the repetition of geometric shapes, the punctuation of droplets, the oriental influence, recall the works of Augustin Lesage, Victor Simon, Fleury Joseph Crépin or Stefan Nowak.
This proximity of inspiration and style raises the question of a common creative focus. »(Cf .: Lesage, Simon, Crépin LAM 2019)
3 WORKS OF CHRISTIAN ALLARD WERE VISIBLE AT LAM IN THIS VERY BEAUTIFUL EXHIBITION “LESAGE, SIMON, CREPIN, painters, spiritualists and healers. »Close on January 5, 2020
